I Pledge

Please mute my music playlist at the bottom of this blog before watching this video

This is my pledge: I Pledge to make God a priority, to save instead of spend, to be a good wife, mother, and friend, to greet others with a smile and say hello, to play with my kids, and to appreciate everyday.

What is your pledge?

Just a Thought

I had lunch with a good friend of mine today and we got to talking about what do you blog about.  I have read blogs that seem very personal and private but yet made public, is a blog a snippet of your day, a moment in time, is it an outlet to vent your frustration, or is a way to communicate with the outside world?  I choose D).  All of the above

Meet Stacy

A moment of silence for Chuck the Fish...

It took Madison 20 minutes to pick her out and she's thrilled with the name she gave her. "I think she looks like a Stacy" she said. I agree.

Me & My Guy

Madison enjoyed an afternoon with her dad. What more could a girl ask for; Claire's, walking the runway and glitter at Sweet & Sassy, and ice skating at Southlands Mall. It was her best day ever!

Off to the Races

A friend of ours, Scott, invited Lance and Ethan to participate in the Pinewood Derby race, Open Division class. They didn't have time to make their own this year so Lance took his off the shelf and dusted it off. He made his some 30 years ago. I was thinking to myself, please don't let the wheels fall off when it hits the finish line. Well, they went in and had it weighed and gave it a name; Old Blue #4. Hmmm, that's a strange name I thought, since it's black. My husband swears it's blue. He hasn't accepted the fact that he is color blind and has also convinced Ethan that it is blue, a dark blue. It's such a dark blue I would say that it was, hmmm....black :)

Ethan can't wait to make his car for the next Pinewood Derby race. He wants to build a monster truck and Lance will have to give Old Blue a new name.

The Question of the Day

Ethan: "What are we going to do today?"
Dad: "I don't know."
Ethan: "Why do you not know? It's today."

The Zoo...through my children's eyes

60 degrees! A perfect day to get out of the house. "Kids, let's go to the zoo!" They were in charge of taking pictures but soon the arguments began. "It's my turn, it's my favorite animal so I should take the picture, that's not fair, I want to take a picture, when is it my turn?" What a perfect day...

Chuck the Fish

He's a little under the weather. Actually, I think he's dying. I'm a bit attached to Chuck and I've been doing extensive research on how I can help him but I think he has lived his maximum life span of a Betta Fish. He's 2 years old and I'm sure when I bought him at PetsMart he was at least 6 months old at the time. I think he has a punctured lung. Crazy as it might seem, the reason I say this is because he has lost his buoyancy. Now he lives in this plant or on the bottom of the tank. It's going to be a sad day in the Vance household when Chuck the Fish leaves us.

Welcome

After having a conversation with my friend Angela this morning about blogging, I decided I would try and figure it out.  Of course, I don't know why others would find my life interesting in this online journal but I'll put myself out there in '09.  Enjoy!
